Changing the face of Video games

Video games has evolved immensely since the first video game to be introduced to the public, Pong. Atari, the makers of pong who took the concept from previous game ideas such as; "tennis for two", Atari still continues to make games to cope up with the rapid development of video games and technology. Pong was a very simple game, it simulates a two dimensional sports game that resembles table tennis and was extremely popular at the time. Born in the twentieth century and in the midst of the uprising video game, I personally can say that i spent some of my life playing video games, who can say they haven't? Personally I have never played the classic pong, the only kind of pong I played was in colour and totally different from the first one.

The first ever console that I remember was the NES (Nintendo entertainment system), and it was hecka fun at the time. Many games today wouldn't exist without the influence of the old school games such as; Duck hunt, super Mario bros, and killer instinct, three totally different genres that have influenced games of the future. The NES was totally popular at the time I born, but as technology continued to evolve rapidly the NES was outdated in a snap. The same company Nintendo, updated and came with the Nintendo 64 soon to be the influence of upcoming video consoles yet to come. Nintendo 64 was very popular upholding better graphics, game play than the NES. Nintendo 64 having the most funnest game of all time and also one of my favorites "super smash bro's" a compilation of all Nintendo characters. The rise of Sony and hand held consoles will come to rise.

With the new development of ps1 by Sony, it overthrew Nintendo 64, in my opinion. Sony ruled over the the video game industry holding over 1000+ game disks for the ps1. We could see the success of ps1 and knew there would be a new generation of Sony. Handhold consoles also came to fruition, the game boy color and game boy advanced made by Nintendoo was a huge hit and a home to the new hit game Pokemon that will soon infatuate all who play it. Video games have evolved immensely and is invading the minds of who plays them. In the present the Wii pushed it up to a new level of gaming, putting the user into the game by using a cocontroller with motion detectors, many of the other brands such as Sony are also developing motion controllers to match up with Wii's. Microsoft Xbox 360 is also trying to make the user the "controller" using body movements as the controls. Consoles can now play blue-ray discs and hand held consoles can hold music, videos, take pictures, and play high end portable games. It is true that the first video game "pong" has influenced many makers to create video games. Personally owning a ps3 and being a faithful Son consumer, I can totally see the difference between ps2, ps1, and Nintendo. To much video games is bad for you, so keep the gaming to a moderate.
