This is just so mind boggling on what the world can come up with today, this just shows how much information has evolved over the few past decades. Google must have worked immensely in order to achieve this goal, but imagine how many hours of taping and employees were needed to make this work, a lot. This of course still in BETA I would presume, as there are still many flaws with it, such as complaints regarding privacy, but google had a plan, they blurred peoples faces and blurred car licence plates in order to prevent any violations from happening. According to the human rights of Canada, its legal to take pictures of anybody if they are surrounded by a public space, but it is very rude and really inappropriate to take a picture of a total stranger. If you are in a public space such as a park it's legal for someone to take a picture of you, but it is illegal to take that picture of you and place it in a magazine. I am for what google has done, this is really beneficial to newcomers to Canada, in order to locate super markets, or other locations. This can also be beneficial to people who are terrible with handling maps and horrible at directions. Google is trying to protect our privacy by blurring out our faces, but it's still pretty bad that google Incorporated people and cars in to this project, but that couldn't be prevented. For google to this project to the next level and prevent any more complaints coming in about privacy, they can remove cars and the people because if they are able to blur peoples faces and licence plates why cant they remove them as well? This would be really sucsessful if google can preform this task and im 100% sure the complaints would stop. Overall this is a wonderful application google has made for us and is very helpful in many ways and in my oppinnion overweighs its downfalls. Removing faces and cars from the pictures would make this an ultimate application.

Google's New street view application

I agree. Google can't do the whole thing again and keep everybody inside just so they could do the whole thing again. Some people should stop being overly sensitive.
ReplyDeleteI to agree. Google is soely using this program for the benefit of the population, not trying to invade privacy's. People who see this as a potential "threat", probably have something to hide in the first place. They need to stop being over sensitive and look at the beneficial factors that come from this program. This program not only lets you know the exact adress and other aspects put gives you the option of a visual aid to fully admire or find said place. This especially comes in handy for people who have difficulties using google map, as Jeff said. Instead of directions and adresses one could simply look at the picture and maybe know the location. Overall this is a benificial and knowledgeable program.
